Lenovo’s company ZUK brings its first smartphone, called Z1, in short, not only a really good-looking high-end phones, but provides the most popular custom ROM CyanogenMod and the right equipment, a terrific system. But that’s not all what the ZUK Z1 has it.
CyanogenMod is, as already mentioned, one of the most popular custom ROMS at all. But what actually means Custom ROM?
Custom-Rom is an alternative operating system (firmware) for an information processing device that usually does not originate from the equipment manufacturer itself but provided by third parties. The term was particularly known for use in smartphones and tablets that use the Android operating system widely used, but is not limited to this meaning.
Custom ROMs usually bring some benefits for the user. For example, most custom ROMs can be individually customized.
ZUK Z1 is comming with CM 12.1 preinstalled. So buyers have out of the box a really good operating system in conjunction with really good hardware:
The Z1 is from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. Together with the 2.5GHz clocked quad-core delivers Adreno 330 and 3GB RAM (speed: 1866MHz) a decent performance. So also power consuming games are no problem for the 5.5-inch screen. The display has 1920 × 1080 pixels FHD. The internal memory is 64GB (not expandable) and for long endurance and joy of Z1 a 4100mAh battery.
The camera, a 13MP Sony Exmor RS sensor with a dual-LED flash on the back. Even in a darker environment, images have really good quality. For Selfie fans ZUK has the Z1 an 8MP OV8865 sensor installed on the front. This Z1 has only 155,7mm x 77,3mm x 8,9mm.
The Z1 can be gray or white. My tester is white; The back is very good processed plastic, but this is so shiny it attracts dirt very quickly. The silver metal frame I find particularly successful, these are the ZUK a really noble, high-quality look. Currently there is even a special edition of the Z1:
Of course, ZUK the flagship killer installed a fingerprint sensor. Here I wish to express the Chinese company a praise, I have never had such a sensor as in ZUK Z1. The sensor detects the fingerprint incredibly fast; faster than, for example, the built-in Samsung S6 fingerprint sensor.
Another highlight is the bottom USB port 3.0 Type-C, and the speaker of the Z1. This provides a good, pleasant sound.
Finally, I want to say something to support ZUK.
I had a small problem with my Z1 and the support under the Mail [email protected], came quickly.
In addition, I was told that ZUK is about to expand its support, to devices as soon as possible. The Z1 price is priced between 300 € and 330 € depending the versions.
